Florian Hempel’s won a couple of games to get to this stage, but one of them was crucial – he beat Dimitri Van den Bergh from two sets to nil down and, importantly, keeps his professional status for another year.
Stephen Bunting was impressive in defeating Ryan Joyce with a 107 average. I just think this is going to be one-sided – Bunting to Win 4-0 and book his spot in the last 16.
Joe Cullen v Ryan Searle – Joe Cullen to Win 4-2
The second match of the afternoon session is not as clear cut. Joe Cullen and Ryan Searle are both similar players – when they hit their A-game they can be unstoppable at times but there are inconsistencies in their game.
Searle came through comfortably in his first match, while Joe beat Darren Penhall in straight sets. For me, the little bit more experience Joe Cullen has will get him over the line to Win 4-2.

Ross Smith v Chris Dobey – Chris Dobey to Win 4-3
We’re saving the best until last. This could be explosive. 180s all over the place in this match. Ross Smith was involved in a seven-set match last year and had 31 180s!
Chris Dobey was brilliant in defeating William O’Connor in his opening match. I think this one goes all the way. Dobey to come out on top and Win 4-3.
