In late November we announced Paddy Power will be turning the Treble 20 green at the launch of the Paddy Power World Darts Championship to universal fanfare and adulation from darts fans across the globe.
Ok, that last bit was a lie. Most of you hated it. Really hated it.
The players did as well.
And, OK, the first bit was a big ‘ol fib too. And we can today reveal the true reason why.
Introducing The BIG 180 campaign.

It’s all part of The Big 180 campaign, where we’re donating £1,000 to Prostate Cancer UK for every 180 banged in by our deloved dartists at Ally Pally from December 15th right through to the final on January 3rd.
So while the treble 20 is staying red, Prostate Cancer UK gets the green.
A win-win for everyone!
One in eight men are at risk of prostate cancer, so our aim is to hit them right between the bullseyes with The BIG 180 campaign which will be unmissable this Christmas.
We’re challenging 180,000 fans, followers and customers in the UK to use Prostate Cancer UK’s online risk checker. It takes just 30 seconds, folks.
Based on last year’s World Championship the campaign would have raised a monster £910,000 and we’re hoping to give away over £1m in the 2024 edition and to raise awareness for chaps to go get themselves checked out over Christmas.
Some of the biggest names in the game are throwing their weight behind the campaign with Fallon Sherrock, Gary Anderson, Nathan Aspinall and pre-tournament favourite Luke Humphries urging lads to get themselves checked.
“I think it’s important to get the message out, Fallon explained, “It’s the same with my other half, unless they’re really poorly that’s the only time they’ll get checked out or go to the doctors
“It’s about raising awareness that people know that if something doesn’t feel right, don’t be afraid to go and ask. We just want people to speak out a bit more.”

Two-time winner of the World Championship Anderson echoed that sentiment. He said, “The more out there it is, the more people hear it and the more people who might do something about it.
“There shouldn’t be any embarrassment, it’s like with everything, you’ve got to help yourself out. There’s so many things going about now you’ve just got to look after yourself and if not yourself then your brothers, your dad, uncles, grandads. The more it’s put out there the more people will listen.”
There’s also a very special prize up for grabs for whoever lands the most 180s at the Paddy Power World Darts Championship in the form of our very own Ballon d’Art trophy.
