SPECIALS

  • Straight Forecast: 1st Michael van Gerwen, 2nd Gerwyn Price
  • 5+ 180s in Each Quarter-Final Match

7:10pm: Chris Dobey v Jonny Clayton – Clayton to Win

Chris Dobey has had a tough Premier League campaign since winning the opening night in Belfast, winning just three matches in the 10 nights since. Clayton, meanwhile, has found his form in recent weeks, winning back-to-back nights on nights nine and 10.

Dobey and Clayton have only met once in the Premier League this year, with the Welshman cruising to a 6-1 win. Another comfortable win for The Ferret looks like a good pick for night 12.

7:40pm: Michael Smith v Gerwyn Price – Price to Average Over 99.5

Gerwyn Price is perhaps playing some of the best darts of his life right now, making light work of Smith in the final last week. With Smith not quite finding his World Championship winning form, the Welshman looks likely to do the same again, as reflected in the price.

For those put off by the price to beat the World No. 1, the Player Average market might be more appealing. Price has averaged 100+ in each of his last five Premier League matches, while Michael Smith’s scoring prowess means the Welshman is unlikely to throw more than 15 darts in a given leg, regardless of the outcome. An average of over 99.5 for the in-form Iceman looks an appealing line.

8:10pm: Dimitri Van Den Bergh v Peter Wright – Van Den Bergh Over 2.5 180s

Peter Wright has recovered from a poor start to the campaign, picking up three wins in the last two nights after just one from the previous nine. While Van Den Bergh has struggled in recent weeks, he enjoyed a promising run to the Players Championship semi-final on Sunday and looks to have regained some form. This should spell a close game between these two, possibly one which could go the distance.

With a good chance of seeing plenty of legs in this one, the 180s markets could offer some value. Van Den Bergh seems to have rediscovered some scoring form, with three 180s in his last two Premier League games, as well as 3+ 180s in four of his six Players Championship games on Sunday.

8:40pm: Michael van Gerwen v Nathan Aspinall – Both Players to Hit 3+ 180s

Van Gerwen and Aspinall have met three times already in the Premier League this season, with 10 or more legs in two of those meetings.

Aspinall has scored 3+ 180s in each of his last four Premier League matches, with 4+ landing in three of those. Even in his recent 6-0 defeat to van Gerwen, The Asp managed two 180s. Van Gerwen has hit nine 180s across his two matches in each of the last two nights, with 3+ landing in three of those four games.

With this in mind, Both Players to Hit 3+ 180s looks like an appealing price to conclude the quarter-finals acca.

Thursday night special bets

Straight Forecast: 1st Michael van Gerwen, 2nd Gerwyn Price

The two league leaders find themselves in opposite halves of the draw and are favourites to meet in the final.

Van Gerwen has a relatively generous draw in fifth-placed Aspinall, followed by one of the bottom two in the semi-final, making him favourite in the Outright market on the night. After an incredible semi-final between the two last week, Van Gerwen looks like the only man capable of dealing with Price at the moment, and the support of the Rotterdam crown might just help him over the line in the final this time!

5+ 180s in Each Quarter-Final Match

There were 27 180s in last week’s quarter-finals, with at least five 180s in each of the ties. With this week’s fixtures throwing up some competitive match-ups, we can expect each quarter-final tie to be fairly close with plenty of legs for maximum hitting!
