The 2021 PDC Grand Slam of Darts reaches its climax on Sunday with a final between two heavyweight tungsten chuckers, as World Champion Gerwyn Price hopes to take the sting out of Snakebite Peter Wright.

He showed he’s up for it with a 15-9 victory in the semi-final versus James Wade, and with the defence of his world title looming next month, another Grand Slam crown would be ideal preparation.
His average of over 102 per throw versus Wade was backed up with 16 of 25 doubles hit as he raced out to a 13-4 lead to put a place in the final beyond doubt, and marked an up-turn from his quarter-final with Jonny Clayton.

Peter Wright was pushed further by Michael Smith in his semi-final, emerging a 16-12 victor despite finding himself 8-12 down at one stage. Rattling off eight straight legs broke the Bully Boy’s resistance, a run inspired by his stunning 170 checkout in the 21st leg as Snakebite snapped back into action and on to a showdown with the world number 1.
Wright and Smith also shared 29 180s. with former world champion averaging just over 100 per throw, and hitting more than 50% of his checkouts.
That heavy scoring tells us to expect a ding-dong battle tonight. If we had to pick a side. we’d lean towards Price with a 16-13 scoreline appealing at around 9/1, but given the rate both men were scoring at this afternoon, the #WhatOddsPaddy offering of 8/1 for 25 or more 180s in the match is the stand out bet for us so we can sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
