The 2021 PDC Grand Slam of Darts reaches its climax on Sunday with the semi finals taking place in the afternoon session before the final in the evening. First up is Gerwyn Price taking on James Wade for the right to play in that final, with The Iceman looking to reclaim his title which was taken by José de Sousa last year.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
The Welshman is aiming to make it three wins in the last four editions of this competition and to really lay down a marker ahead of the World Darts Championship next month. In his way is the wily Wade who edged past Rob Cross 16-14 with a fine performance in the quarter finals and lost out to the aforementioned Special One in the 2020 final.
Both players will be well up for this and each will have plenty of motivation to get into Sunday’s final. So, let’s see what value’s about for your best bet in the first semi final.
Sunday 13:15 Gerwyn Price v James Wade – Price Most 180s, High Checkout & Win
TV: Sky Sports Arena
Gerwyn Price had been a little below par before his 16-12 win over Jonny Clayton in the quarters, averaging around 96, but he has back to his bullish best and has vowed to turn the volume up as he closes in on a third title here in four years. It looks like he’s woken up and it spells bad news for James Wade.
The Iceman is Paddy’s big odds-on favourite to make it through to another final and I think it’s hard to see past that. However, we can add in for the Welshman to have the most 180s and the highest checkout for a nice bit of value.
Price fired 11 maximums in his semi final in two fewer games compared to Wade’s six against Cross. With The Iceman hotting up it looks well worth siding with Price to have the Most 180s, Highest Checkout and to Win the Match.
