7.15pm: Michael Smith v Jose De Sousa – Over 18.5 legs

A spot in the quarter finals is the prize on offer in tonight’s action at the Winter Gardens. Michael Smith takes on Jose De Sousa in the opener and it looks set to be a high-scoring affair to kicks things off.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

De Sousa is in good form but Smith has the capability to stick in there and The Special One triumphed 10-9 the last time they met. I think we’re going deep here with Over (+18.5 Legs) in this one.

(18.5)

8.15pm: Gary Anderson v Nathan Aspinall – Aspinall to Win

Both Gary Anderson and Nathan Aspinall have eased into the PDC World Matchplay with slightly underwhelming performances so far. Each will need to up their game if they want to go deep and this could be just the match up to make that happen for the winner.

Wednesday 7pm: PDC World Matchplay Darts
Sky Sports Arena

It’s always tight when these two meet, with a recent Premier League draw emphasising that point. But Aspinall had the superior Premier League campaign and seems to enjoy the energy or the returning crowds and that could tip it in his favour. We’re on Aspinall to Win.

9.15pm: Michael van Gerwen v Ian White – White (+2.5)

Michael van Gerwen is the overwhelming favourite to beat Ian White but I think this is going to be a far closer contest than the odds suggest. MVG is not the all-conquering juggernaut he once was and lost to White the last time they met on TV and in the Dutch Masters Final in 2019.

MVG is too short to back and White too unlikely to win so we’ll plump for something on the Alternative handicap market. This will be closer than predicted but White (+2.5) on the handicap market could be a very shrewd bet. The price on (+3.5) is also appealing if that floats your boat but we’ll take a bit more of a risk on the (+2.5).

(+2.5)

10.15pm: Peter Wright v Joe Cullen – Cullen (+2.5)

We could be set for a cracking match with some needle in Wednesday’s final match as Peter Wright takes on Joe Cullen. The pair have verbally locked horns already and Snakebite isn’t one to shirk a confrontation.

I think it will be close contest as Cullen has shot back to form after a poor Super Series and Wright has admitted he is still some way off his best. There’s value in the handicap markets if this goes how I think it will and Cullen (+2.5) looks a nice play.

(+2.5)
