Darts Tips: Eight from the great Dave Clark for Tuesday's PDC Home Tour

We’re onto Day Eight of the second group stage at the PDC Home Tour. Last night Nathan Aspinall triumphed in a winner-takes-all shoot-out against Jose De Sousa. Hopefully we can continue our good form today.

7.35pm: Jonny Clayton v Scott Waites – Waites to win, over 9.5 legs in match, highest checkout over 112.5 in match

Jonny Clayton, the ‘Welsh Ferret’, hit the headlines last month after winning the group on his day off from his key role delivering food to the elderly and disadvantaged during lockdown. He is favourite to progress to the semi-final, but I don’t think he will.

I think this match is crucial and I don’t think Scott Waites should be underestimated. Scotty ‘Too Hotty’ is a two-time BDO World Champion who will put up a fight here. Chizzy had to average 102 to beat him in the group stages. His average is over 90 in 5 of his 6 matches in this tournament so far.

There are some decent bets here. I fancy Waites to win here at 5/4. Over 9.5 legs is evens and the highest checkout over 112.5 is 5/6.

8.05pm: Max Hopp v Carl Wilkinson – Wilkinson to win 6-4

Hopp is the red-hot favourite here but Wilkinson impressed in qualifying. He averaged nearly 95 throughout, so I think there is value to be had here with Wilkinson causing the upset. 6/4 is a good price on the Wilkinson win and I think he’ll do it 6-4.

8.35pm: Scott Waites v Carl Wilkinson – Waites to win 6-3

Waites will be out to impress here and he is my tip to win the group tonight. I just think he will have too much for the man from Bradford here and I like the look of a 6-3 win to Waites.

9.05pm: Jonny Clayton v Max Hopp – Clayton to win 6-3

These two have met three times with Clayton winning all three. I am expecting Clayton to easily brush aside Max Hopp here. Hopp has been struggling for form and hasn’t been at his best. He was averaging 85 in last few matches so I fancy a 6-3 win to Clayton.

Waites has played well in this tournament so far but took two attempts to qualify. Remember, Chizzy needed an average of 102 to beat him. I fancy him to win the group, so a Waites win 6-4.
