Darts Tips: Dave Clark’s best bets for Monday’s PDC Home Tour action

Best of order, please. Game on!

Steve Brown was one of the stars of yesterday’s action. There was a really funny moment when his son cheekily introduced him as the guy who has retired more times than David Haye! But ‘bomber’ walked down his stairs for the walk on surrounded by his big family. It was great to see all the smiling faces, staying at home safe. That’s what the PDC at Home Tour is all about!

Also, last night we saw Nathan Aspinall play really well despite an ankle injury. The silly boy went over on his ankle whilst out jogging. He managed to avoid A&E luckily but he won’t be out running for a while!

On to today’s action in Group 11…

If it’s still going, there are probably odds on it at PaddyPower.com

19.30 Simon Whitlock V Mike van Duivenbode

51-year old Whitlock ‘the Wizard’ is a very experienced pro having been a finalist in both the BDO and PDC World Championship. His opponent, Van Duivenbode, is a 21-year old Dutchman who only won his tour card last year. This guy’s name is tough to pronounce but I’ve seen signs folks that this guy is a really good player. He won a couple of tournaments on the development tour, which is really tough to do. He’s a bright young star with a bright future. I think this guy will be the man of the day, so I’m going with a 5-3 win for Van Duivenbode in the opener at a decent price of 11/2.

20.00 Kirk Shepherd V Alan Tabern

What can we say about Kirk Shepherd? Back in 2008 he came from no-where to finish runner-up in the World Championship. John Part beat him in the final 7-2. Alan Tabern, a name from yesteryear, the Saint from St. Helens. World Championship and Match-play quarter-finalist. He peaked back in 2007-2008. But I fancy him to turn on the magic today in this one against Shepherd who has never reached the heights again of 2008. Tabern with a 5-3 win is 7/2.

20.30 Mike van Duivenbode V Alan Tabern

I think the young Dutchman will too much in in his locker here for Tabern. I really fancy this guy to play well today and win all of matches. I’d be looking at a 5-3 win for the Dutchman here at 7/1. Massive price folks! This is my NB.

My NAP selection of the day would be the Mike van Duivenbode treble. It works out at just over 8/1.

This guy has a bright future and will be more than capable of landing the hat-trick here this evening.

He is 15/8 to beat Simon Whitlock in the opener. He is then 10/11 to see off Alan Tabern and is odds on again at 8/11 to beat Kirk Shepherd in last match of the night.

Will Mike van Duivenbode steal the show later? I certainly think so. We’ll wait and see.

Best of luck with your bets!
