Well folks, day nine of the PDC Home Tour continues today.
Jonny Clayton was the hero last night. The Welsh Ferret a hero in more ways than one. He’s been delivering food to the elderly and vulnerable because he can’t work as a plasterer at the moment. So, richly deserved.
Good things happen to good people and Jonny Clayton stole the show, winning all three of his matches to win Group 8. My treble for yesterday went very close indeed. Let’s see if we can go one better today…
19.30 Michael Smith v Martjin Kleermaker
Opening up the day we have Michael ‘Bully Boy’ Smith in action against Martjin Kleermaker.
Bully Boy is a proud dad of two kids. The two boys love the darts and I’m sure they’re busting their dad as he practices today. They may even make an appearance tonight, when Smith takes to the stage.
Kleermaker, 29-year old Dutchman, played darts in the BDO. He also made the last 16 of the BDO World Championships back in January. But I can’t see anything but a Bully Boy win here. A 5-2 victory for Michael Smith is 3/1. That is my NB.
20.00 Harry Ward V Matt Clark
Then in the night’s second match, Harry Ward faces Matt Clark. Ward is from Burton on-Trent is 22 years old. He’s a big lad and ‘big age’ they call him. He’s a 2015 BDO World Youth Championship finalist. He’s climbed up the World rankings. He’s 71st now but has yet to make it past the last 64 of a major tournament.
Clark, who is from Kent, is known as Superman. Clark Kent – get it yeah? He’s 52-years of age and has been on the circuit for many years now. He was also a World Championship semi-finalist back in the day but I fancy the young gun coming through to win. Ward on a 5-3 score line is 11/2.
Dave’s treble for Saturday
My NAP of the night is my Bully Boy correct score treble. I fancy Michael Smith to win all of his matches this evening.
- The first leg of my treble is Smith to win 5-2 in his opener against Martjin Kleermaker.
- The second part is Smith to beat Harry Ward 5-3 and the last leg of the treble is Smith to beat Matt Clark 5-2.
The treble is over 100/1 and I think it has a great shout.
