Tonight’s Home Tour features Jonny Clayton, Adam Hunt, David Pallett and Richard North.
Group Winner
Jonny “The Ferret” Clayton heads the betting in the outright at 11/10, followed by Adam “The Hnter” Hunt (11/4), Richard “Northy” North (4/1) and David (no known nickname) Pallett at 4/1.
While these are perhaps the worst collection of nicknames in the PDC, there is some talent on offer.
You need not look any further than Jonny Clayton, he has a wealth of experience over the field tonight and could win comfortably.
This may be a case of “the hunter becoming the hunted”. Adam Hunt has put in some decent performances in the Pro Tour events earlier this season, but over the course of his career he has very rarely brought his floor game to the big stage.
I reckon the Ferrett may show his experience here and emerge a handy victor.
Age: 45
World Ranking: 15
Nationality: Welsh
Home: Pontyberem, Wales
Nickname: The Ferret
Walk on Music: Johnny Be Goode by Chuck Berry
Jonny made the last 32 in the World Championships at the Alexander Palace in 2017 & 2020. His career-best performance was reaching the semi-finals of the UK Open at Butlins, Minehead in March this year, where he lost to fellow Welshman Gerwyn Price 11-4.
This looks like it will be a closely contested affair and I wouldn’t be surprised if it went all the way. There is very little between the two players in terms of their 180s hit rate & this may be the angle for a bet with Hunt the 6/4 outsider in the 180’s market.
Age: 30
World Ranking: 91
Nationality: English
Home: Newport, Shropshire, England
Nickname: none (known as ‘Dave’)
Walk on Music: Parklife by Blur
Dave started with the BDO as a youth in 2005. He switched to the PDC in 2013. His best performance in the World Championship was in 2016 where he made the last 32. His best tournament performance was in the 2018 UK Open in Butlins, Minehead where he reached the Semi-Finals. He lost out to eventual winner Gary Anderson 11-7. Dave averaged a very respectable 95 in the quarter-final of that 2018 UK Open.
David Pallett v Jonny Clayton
Jonny Clayton takes on David Pallett in the final match of the night. Again, I would fancy Clayton to get the job done here but he is plenty short on Match Odds.
The Ferret has established himself as one of the most prolific 180 hitters on tour over the course of the last 2 seasons and I reckon this could be the play in this match.
