Raymond van Barneveld, Scott Mitchell, David Evans, Wessel Nijman and Ritchie Edhouse all feature in tonight’s Icons of Darts tournament. It’s actually the same line-up as Monday night, with the exception of Scott Mitchell stepping in to replace Martin Adams.
Van Barneveld has not impressed in online darts at all. He’s nowhere near the high averages we expect know he can achieve. The only exception to his poor form was when he beat Phil Taylor in the Paddy Power Nexus Darts from Home challenge last week, coming from 6-3 behind.
He’s put out a tweet saying he’s feeling under the weather, so that could be a reason for his indifferent performances.
Wessel Nijman and David Evans have been among the standout players. They’ve been real tough customers.
Last week Wessel missed double 12 for a nine-darter and is a big 180 hitter so will be in contention to win tonight’s five-man tournament, and I make him favourite. David has been looking sharp too, so I make him second-favourite.
We’ve not seen much of Scott Mitchell on the Icons stage just yet so he’s a bit of an unknown, but he’s a top competitor and I think he can push on.
These two know each other from the BDO circuit. With David’s impressive performances over the last week or so that this one could go right down to the wire. It’s a bit of a toss of a coin, but I’m leaning in David’ favour due to his fine form on the Icons circuit so far.
Wessel beat David 5-4 yesterday despite loads of missed darts. I think it will be tight again, but I’m siding with Nijman to take the victory again tonight.

If it’s still going, there are probably odds on it at PaddyPower.comI don’t see Raymond van Barneveld really challenging. We know with Barney once his head’s down he’s not really a fighter.

I think this will be a win for Scotty in the first match of the night.

David Evans is 8/13 to win
8.55pm Wessel Nijman v David Evans
