Champions League of Darts: Semi-final tips from the Traders are in

Not long to go now. We're buzzing for the semi's!

Michael van Gerwen v Gerwyn Price

If the head to head stats are anything to go by, this match will be a foregone conclusion as the Green Machine has played Price 17 times and never lost.

The Welshman has put in some impressive performances this weekend though, not least of which was earlier today where he overpowered Superchin with a 101.04 average, complimented by some excellent doubling (50% c/o rate).

However, the world number one only seemed to raise his game when challenged by Gary Anderson today and I find it tough to see him beaten here.

We reckon MVG will edge it but Price will cover the handicap.

Recommended bets:

Price +3.5 at 8/11
Price Most 180’s at 11/8

Peter Wright v Michael Smith

The last four times these two have met, it has gone the distance (including 2 draws in the Premier League). It is desperately close to call this one.

Wright would look to have the advantage in terms of tournament form where he has superior stats in both averages (97.04 to Smith’s 96.77) and doubling (39.49% to Smith’s 37.14%). But Smith did extremely well to battle through the deciding match against Wade & overcome his shocking had to head record against the Machine.

Wright said in his post-match interview after hammering Rob Cross that he is currently in pain and thinks it’s related to his gallstones. But, I’m not sure what effect this will have on his game though & would think his adrenaline should neutralise the pain.

Recommended bets:

Peter Wright to win at 8/11
Over 18.5 legs at 5/6
