Grand Prix of Darts: This Trader treble for Tues night’s games comes in at a lovely 17/1

Should be another good night in City West

James Wade v Mervyn King

While we would fancy Wade to see this through, old Merv showed in his first-round appearance that he is very sweet on his grouping at the moment with the joint-most 180s for the round (five 180’s). This is the 48th meeting between the pair, with Wade edging the head to head 24-22 (one draw) so we’re expecting a tight match and as such have avoided the win market. Instead, we think old Merv is good value to dominate the 180s.

Recommended bet: Mervyn King Most 180s @ 4/5

Michael Smith v Ian White

Both players weren’t at their best in the first round but found an extra gear towards the end to see themselves through. These two are good mates away from the oche and practice partners on it so we expect another edgy affair and fancy this one to go all the way.

Recommended bet: Total Sets Over 4.5 @ 13/8

Michael van Gerwen v Jeffrey de Zwaan

The reigning champion and world no.1 looked out of sorts in the first round, particularly on his doubling although he did well to dig deep and finish out the match. De Zwaan has a good record against MVG on the big stage having knocked him out in the first round of the UK Open and the World Matchplay. A win here against his fellow countryman would make it a hat-trick of televised victories and Jeffrey certainly won’t have any fear here. We think he’ll do it.

Recommended bet: Jeffrey de Zwaan @ 3/1

Darts Treble from the Traders – 17/1:

Mervyn King to have most 180s v James Wade @ 4/5
Michael Smith v Ian White: Total Sets Over 4.5 @ 13/8
Jeffrey de Zwaan to beat Micheal Van Gerwen @ 3/1
