Dave Clark’s best bets for Tuesday’s PDC World Championship bouts

Dave Clark breaks down the best bets for tonight's matches at the Ally Pally, as Daryl Gurney takes on veteran PDC challenger Paul Lim...

Lennon v Bailey

Ireland’s Dutch Darts Masters finallist in 2018, Steve Lennon takes on the Australian winner of the Oceanic Masters, James Bailey, and should be too strong for the man from down under. It’s 1/4 Lennon versus 11/4 Bailey, but it’s just Lennon all the way for me.

Meulenkamp v Portela

Diogo Portela is good player. He’s making his second appearance at the World Championship, He’s up against Ron Meulenkamp, the Dutch left-hander, anothe solid player, he’s 1/3 here, but I’m going to going for his Brazilian opponent. He’s a huge price at 9/4 to do the job. He’s a very, very confident young man and can upset the odds.

Van den Bergh v Puleo

Chuck Puleo is the top American player, but he hasn’t a chance against dancing Dimitri van den Bergh, who’s winning the hearts of the nation with his dance moves on his way to the stage. He’s a two-time world youth champion, he’s a classy player and could have a run at these championship.

Gurney v Lim

Northern Ireland’s Daryl Gurney is world number five and will face one hell of a fight from Paul Lim, but Gurney, 1/6 for the match, will be just that little bit too strong for the Singapore Slinger.

Dave’s Best Bet

Diogo Portela, the Brazilian star, he had a good run at the World Cup with his partner there, 9/4 to do a job on red-hot favourite Rob Meulenkamp in their match tonight.
