Gary Anderson’s Saturday treble on the Champions League of Darts

The Scot makes his picks from MVG-Chisnall, Cross-Suljovic and Wright-Whitlock...

Walk on music, grown men dressed as penguins and a 50 grand pot for the crowd if we see a nine-dart finish.

It can only mean that Paddy’s sponsoring the Champions League of Darts this weekend, so we asked Scottish ace Gary Anderson to give us a quick treble from Saturday’s games, starting with:

Michael Van Gerwen v Dave Chisnall

“Dave’s playing well.

Michael’s slipping off the ropes a wee bit, but if he gets on top he could pull away.

If Dave can keep up with him and crack MVG, then I think Dave will run away with it because he’s a heavy scorer as well. If Chisnall can hit his doubles and put Michael under pressure, he’s got a chance.

But a betting man would go with Van Gerwen.”

Rob Cross v Mensur Suljovic

“I’d take Mensur. He’s the only player I really struggle with it. Lovely lovely man but he zips me up like a kipper every time.

It’s a hard match to call. Rob’s had a couple of weeks off, Mensur’s probably been practicing, it’ll be a tight one. I think it’ll go all the way.

If you pushed me for a winner, I’d say Mensur.”

Peter Wright v Simon Whitlock

“I think Peter will win this one relatively comfortably, perhaps 10-7 or 10-6. Simon’s great but if he goes off the boil, he really goes off the boil.

Peter is the type of player who will capitalise on any mistakes that Simon makes.”
