Quinton de Kock & Rohit Sharma to both hit a 4 & a 6
Top Match Batter: Suryakumar Yadav

Saturday 3.30pm: South Africa v India
T20 World Cup Final at the Kensington Oval, Barbados
TV: Sky Sports

De Kock & Sharma to both hit a 4 & a 6

It’s been a tournament of low scores but I expect the final at the Kensington Oval to buck this trend somewhat. The Bridgetown ground has the potential to host a classic World Cup Final and I would expect the side batting first to make a total in excess of 170.

The opening batsmen and power play will be crucial to this and i’m backing Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma to get their respective teams off to fast starts. Rohit Sharma has really found his best form in his last two outings, with an excellent 57 on a tough pitch against England and a brutal 92 off 41 balls against Australia.

If he stays at the crease for any length of time then 4s and 6s are guaranteed. The same can be said of the mercurial Quinton de Kock.

He’s a batsman who likes to deal in boundaries and with the pitch for the final expected to be more suited to strokeplay we’d expect a flurry of early boundaries from the Protea’s talisman.

Top Match Batter: Suryakumar Yadav

India are expected to edge this contest and I expect the man known as SKY to put in a match winning performance. He has shown glimpses of his best form in this tournament – only Rohit Sharma has scored more runs for India in this tournament.

An excellent 47 against England in the semi final showed plenty of guts and class and he was match top scorer with his 53 in the Super Eight match against Afghanistan.

South Africa’s new ball attack with be confident of nicking a couple of early wickets and it’s likely India will rely on someone from their middle order to guide them to their expected win.
