India v England betting tips

Virat Kohli & Jos Buttler to score 50+ runs each
Rohit Sharma & Phil Salt to hit 1+ 6s each

Thursday 3:30pm: India v England
T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final match at the Providence Stadium, Georgetown, Guyana
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Cricket

Virat Kohli & Jos Buttler to score 50+ runs each

Both sides will expect their best players to stand up and be counted in this semi-final and Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler are the men most likely.

Kohli has had a poor tournament for his (very high) standards. He’s had some difficult pitches to contend with and his scores had been improving until he made a duck in his last outing v Australia on Monday.

But he’s proved many times that he is the man for the big occasion. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him come good in this match against an England team he has an excellent record against (averaging 39.93 in 20 T20Is).

Kohli also leads the way for most 50s by an Indian player in international T20s v England (with five from 20) and made a 50 in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi against the same opponent.

Buttler made 80 not out in that same match as England walked to victory by 10 wickets. The England captain is now averaging 47.75 in the 2024 edition, largely thanks to an imperious 83 not out in his last game v USA. He is just finding his form at the right time.

Rohit Sharma & Phil Salt to hit 1+ 6s each

We’d expect both of these destructive opening batsmen to come out all guns blazing in a match of this magnitude.

Sharma certainly took no prisoners in his last match against Australia, smacking eight sixes in his brutal 92 from 41 balls knock.

That took him to a tally of 13 sixes from six innings in the 2024 Twenty20 World Cup and we’d expect to see at least another in this match.

Salt has hit 10 sixes so far in the tournament from his six innings and his overall T20I six hitting record stands at 45 from 30 matches.

Both players are in the Top 10 batsmen for total runs scored at this years tournament.

Sharma is averaging 38.2 (191 runs) and has scored 40% of his total runs in sixes. Salt is averaging 45.75 (183 runs) and has scored 33% of his total runs in sixes.
