Tommy Fury v KSI
Saturday, October 14: 10pm
TV: DAZN
It’s almost Judgement Day – the day when we finally find out if YouTuber KSI can shock the world and beat a boxer at his own sport. Tommy Fury is the favourite with Paddy Power but the big fight at the Manchester Arena is far from a foregone conclusion. So to add a little spice into the mix I’ve rummaged through the markets for a best bet and a long-shot shout.

Best Bet: Tommy Fury Points Or Decision
Tyson Fury’s little brother would love to back up his words and lay out KSI, but the facts are that ‘TNT’ Tommy looked more comfortable on the Love Island lounger than he does knocking people out – in his nine professional contests Fury has only stopped four opponents, and three of those four had never actually won a fight.
The Furys may talk crazy but they fight sensibly – it is true of Tommy as much as it is true of Tyson. Part of the reason the younger Fury has such a weak KO record is that he’d rather move and make sure he doesn’t get hit, rather than put his punches together and go for the finishing shot.
Another factor counting against the KO is that this is just a six round bout. Even if Tommy is winning easily, KSI won’t have too long to survive. I think Fury will win but I don’t think he’ll be able to knock out the social media sensation in the other corner.
Long Shot: KSI To Win In Round 5 – 6
KSI probably won’t KO Fury, but he has a puncher’s chance, and the odds are so huge it might be worth a little wager. The former public schoolboy from Watford has done it before – in fact he’s won by KO in five of his seven fights.
He doesn’t have the amateur pedigree or the years of schooling in professional gyms but that might just work in KSI’s favour – Fury is used to facing foes who stick to the fundamentals of boxing, when ‘JJ’ starts throwing haymakers one just might land.
And it’s worth remembering this is a six round fight, after four rounds the finish line is in sight and KSI can swing for the fences. Fury lost a bit of concentration against Jake Paul and was dropped – there are big odds that KSI can go one better.
