Breaking: Wilder spends night under ring to avoid arduous ring walk

He won't make the same mistake again...

Deontay Wilder spent the night underneath the ring in Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena to spare himself an energy-sapping ring walk, Paddy Power News can exclusively reveal.

Wilder is preparing for the third and final instalment of his trilogy of unmerciful beatings at the hands of Tyson Fury.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

The 35-year-old is determined not to repeat the mistakes of his previous outing against the Gypsy King when a heavy ring walk costume left the Bronze Bomber without the use of his legs.

In order to avoid the long and arduous 30-second trek to the boxing ring, Wilder set up camp for the night underneath the canvas along with his team of trainers.

The former WBC heavyweight champion emerged from underneath the ring apron in his pyjamas and clutching a teddy bear around 8am this morning.

“I will defeat Fury, there can be no excuses this time – except for my water being spiked, biased officiating, Russian interference and horse shoes in Tyson’s gloves,” Wilder told Paddy Power News.

“I’m not wasting any more energy talking about him – God knows I’ve used enough just brushing my teeth this morning.”

Wilder returned to designers Como and Donato to design his ring walk costume which has been made out of Graphene Aerogel, officially the world’s lightest material.

“Developed in a lab at Zhejiang University in China, graphene aerogel can be placed on a delicate flower causing zero deformation – and they don’t come any more delicate Deontay,” a spokesperson for Cosmo and Donato told PPN.

The LA fashion stylists have also designed a couture bejewelled stretcher that will assist Wilder out of the ring after his latest pummelling at the hands of Fury.

“He let us have complete creative control. He trusted our vision and we have created a couture stretcher we believe will become Deontay’s signature,” they added.

In related news, there have been unconfirmed reports his opponent Tyson Fury has uttered a word other than ‘Dosser’.

His promoter Frank Warren has uncharacteristically refused to comment.
