Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will trade leather for the third time this weekend and while it’s not the Fury v Joshua fight we were originally promised, it’s not a bad alternative. Fury’s media alone is box office and where Wilder is involved, you’ve always got a chance of seeing a devastating knockout. Let’s look at some #WhatOddsPaddy plays for you to punch in for the big bout.

Tyson Fury To Land 50+ Jabs

Fury is a boxer who knows how to make the most of the advantages he possesses – namely, his size, his reach and technical abilities. The old saying goes, ‘the right hand can take you around the block, but the jab will take you around the world’. In fairness to Wilder, he’s made a career out of his right hand but as a rule of thumb, a boxer beats a puncher. Fury landed 64 and 52 jabs on Wilder in their first two fights, so you can see the emphasis he puts on that particular tool.

From a tactical standpoint, it’s an essential shot to keep Wilder occupied, under pressure and off-balance. Barring an early knock-out, it’s hard to see any game plan that doesn’t see Fury utilising the jab throughout the fight, so this looks an excellent value bet.

Tyson Fury To Land More Punches Than Deontay Wilder In Each Of The First 6 Rounds

Of the 19 rounds these guys have shared the ring for, Wilder has outlanded Fury in only four of those. The Gypsy King has a horribly awkward style which involves him landing unorthodox punches from weird angles, not all of which are intended to hurt you. What they do is stop a fighter from getting comfortable.

Wilder is very much the antithesis of this, a power puncher not interested in volume. He’s a devastating puncher who only needs to be perfect for one shot to knock you out. Again, this looks a really good value bet and one to keep you interested as the rounds go by.

Tyson Fury To Be Knocked Down & Tyson Fury To Win By Unanimous Decision

As I mentioned above, The Bronze Bober is one of the most devastating punchers boxing has ever seen. While he’s mostly a one trick pony, it’s a hell of a trick and he’s already shown he can put Fury on the deck. Whether he can keep him there is another matter.

Fury drew their first fight having been floored twice (the less said about the judging that night, the better) and when it comes to technical ability, Wilder is playing checkers with Fury playing chess.

I can see a fight where Fury decides to play with his food, outbox Wilder for large periods, but also find himself on the deck again. If this bet is a winner, then we’ve had an entertaining fight in the process.

Both Fighters To Be Knocked Down, Either Fighter To Have A Point Deducted & The Fight Goes The Distance

In a similar vein to my previous suggestion, if this selection is to be a winner then we’ve had a seriously entertaining night. Fury is a master of getting in your face and landing punches on the inside, holding and tying you up.

All it takes for a point to be deducted is a referee to decide enough is enough and take a point as a deterrent. I’ve spoken already about Wilder’s power and their rematch showed how Fury can flip the switch through sheer volume and pressure.
