An all-British unification fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is in the pipeline after the latter retained his world heavyweight titles with victory over Kubrat Pulev on Saturday.
Joshua floored the Bulgarian three times before a right hook sent Pulev to the canvas decisively in the ninth round, much to the delight of the 1,000 spectators allowed inside Wembley Arena.
The bout was Joshua’s first defence of his WBA, IBF and WBO titles since regaining them in a rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr last December.
Pulev was the mandatory challenger for the belts but now Joshua can turn his attention to becoming the undisputed champion of the world.
“Say his name three times and he appears!” – Joshua ducks Fury talks after win
That means defeating WBC champion Tyson Fury.
Joshua has an agreement in principle with the self-proclaimed Gypsy King, and the pair have supposedly settled on a two-fight deal in 2021 which are set to be the biggest bouts in British boxing history.
Little is currently known surrounding the specifics of the fights, with negotiations due to start this week, but promoter Eddie Hearn expects a deal to be hammered out in just a few days.
That is despite numerous potential complications which include Fury being forced to face Deontay Wilder for a third time and Joshua being told by the WBO to take on mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk.
Here at Paddy Power we can’t wait to see this clash of the titans, so we’ve have already pushed our markets live ahead of the first potential big bust-up.
Fury is the early odds-on favourite, having immediately called out Joshua on social media in the aftermath of the 31-year-old’s victory at the weekend.

There is already value to be found betting on Fury to claim victory by KO/TKO, while we’re offering very long odds on such an explosive encounter ending in a draw.
With such heavy hitters on show, and each with a point to prove, we do not expect the fight to go the distance and it’s odds-on that we get a result before the end of the 12th round.
More markets will become available as details of the fights are announced, so keep an eye on PaddyPower.com for the best prices.
