Here’s what our traders fancy for the Bellew v Usyk showdown

Paddy loves an underdog but this lad's a different f*ckin breed......

Tomorrow evening sees the latest offering of pay per view boxing, with Tony ‘the bomber’ Bellew going up against pound for pound star Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk currently holds all the belts available in the 200lbs division after completing his mission of winning last season’s World Boxing Super Series. Many believed Bellew would sail in to the sunset with his millions after winning the David Haye rematch, however the lure of winning all the marbles from Usyk was too much for him to turn down.

Both men looked in great shape on the scales today and we should be set for a great fight come the first bell tomorrow.

Paddy does love an underdog so we’d love to say Bellew is in with a real chance of pulling off the win, however he does really look up against it on this occasion.

In terms of bets, the general odds on across the board on the Usyk KO/TKO looks a little on the short side to us. I think the first few rounds will be pretty cagey and the fact Usyk doesn’t really have that one punch knockout power, makes us think that Bellew should be capable of seeing the final bell. Bellew may well cause Usyk some trouble at times during the fight, but we can see Usyk getting home with cards in the region of 116-112.

Selection: Back Usyk to win on points @ 6/4

In terms of specials, I think one to look out for here is for Bellew’s corner to throw the towel in, this is generally available for all big fights at around 10/1 here it would be worth a play as Bellew’s trainer Dave Coldwell has put on record on numerous occasions that he didn’t want Bellew to take this fight and instead wanted him to retire.

So if things are going against Bellew late on in the fight and he is behind on the cards as is expected, it’s highly possible we may see Coldwell decide to call an early end to proceedings.

Selection: Back Bellew’s corner to throw the towel @10/1
