In case you missed it, as part of our VIPP promotion, we’re sending one lucky Paddy Power punter (and a plus-one) to Las Vegas. The competition winner will avail of, among other things, free flights and accommodation in Sin City, as well as 1000 quid spending money.
Oh, and there’s the small matter of those prime seats for the Mayweather v McGregor fight.
Following a highly sophisticated and achingly glamorous draw undertaken via Facebook Live, we now have our winner, the lovely Jeff in Dublin:
Head on over to PaddyPower.com for the latest odds on Mayweather v McGregorPoor Jeff was understandably taken aback by the news, so, a few days later, we gave him a quick call to get his thoughts on Vegas, the fight, and what he was going to do with all that dosh.
Here’s what he had to say.
PP: Who are you bringing?
Jeff: I’m going to bring my future missus. We’re getting married in a month’s time, in Spain. So this is kind of a honeymoon before the wedding. She jumped on the plus-one pretty quickly.
What are you most looking forward to doing in Vegas?
I’m a boxing nut and I’ve always wanted to go to Vegas and take in a big fight, which is how it’s panned out. Aside from the fight, if we get time I wouldn’t mind going to the Grand Canyon, which is only about an hour away.
If there’s a bar with an Elvis impersonator then I’ll be all over that!
What are you going to spend the money on?
It’s gonna be drink and food, isn’t it?
Also, I know you can do helicopter tours so if there’s some money left over we can do that.
Who are you backing in the fight?
I’m pretty ambivalent really. Financially, I’m not too bothered, but I’m buying into the hype. Obviously when the fight was made, everyone thought McGregor had no chance but now, more in hope than with any rational thinking, people are starting to believe Conor can win.
I live in Ireland and my future wife is Irish, so I’ll be cheering on McGregor, although I don’t really think he can win.
Are you hoping to run into any celebrities? And if so, who?
Personally, I couldn’t care less unless Elvis comes back from the dead.
But as for my girlfriend, literally anyone…
What does winning this trip mean to you?
It means everything to me. You have four or five things you want to tick off your list; going to Vegas for a long weekend around a fight is something I’ve always wanted to do.
I’m a big boxing fan, so it’s one less thing to tick off.
