Wayne Rooney started in Manchester United’s bleak 1-1 home draw to Bournemouth in the afternoon and then saw Tony Bellew overcome David Haye in the evening. At least he got a taste of victory from somewhere.
Bellew overcame an injured Haye in the 11th round and was 1/6 to take the win at the beginning of the 10th.

After the fight, fellow Evertonian Wayne headed to Bellew’s dressing room to congratulate him on his victory in a much-hyped fight.
When asked how he felt about the scrap, the United captain said he was nervous in the early rounds.
“You came out in the first round and I thought, ‘kinhell. What are you doing!?”
He went on to say he was: “Buzzing” and “made up” for the boxer. He also made reference to Marouane Fellaini and Sylvain Distin being in the crowd.
