NBA Tips: Jokic and Tatum lead 13/1 Sunday evening punt

6:10pm Denver Nuggets @ Boston Celtics

Jayson Tatum Total Points and Rebounds: Over 38.5
Nikola Jokic Total Rebounds and Assists: Over 23.5

The Celtics are reeling – well, as much as they ever can reel. After being stunned – and kept under 100 – against the Pistons they then lost the battle of the top two in the East against the Cavs. Now they welcome Denver to Boston, who themselves have been up and down recently and like the Celtics are also second in their conference by a substantial distance.

We’re backing the two biggest stars on either side of the floor in this one. Tatum was herculean in the game against Cleveland with 46 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists. We like him to go over here for points and rebounds.

In a similar vein Nikola Jokic continues to be absolutely outrageous and is still AVERAGING a triple-double for the season. We don’t want to necessarily bet on a TD for Jokic in this one so instead we’re going for the Serbian star to go big on rebounds and assists.

8:40pm Portland Trail Blazers @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Toumani Camara Total Points: Over 11.5

Is there a more fun team in basketball right now than the Blazers? The young core has been rolling and although a play-in spot seems too far away still there is real hope and joy in the Pacific North-West for the first time in what feels like forever.

But Cleveland will be a different beast to the teams they’ve played recently, even with star guard Donovan Mitchell sitting this one out for rest.

However precisely because Mitchell is out we’re staying away from a specific Cavs bet (although if you want one we’re tempted by the over on Evan Mobley’s points) but instead we’re firmly backing the over in terms of total points. Even with the Cavs strong defence Portland are doing well in terms of shot creation at the moment so they should keep up their end of the bargain.

And because we don’t often get to talk about the west coast Blazers we’ll highlight Toumani Camara for the second bet from his game. Camara’s story and rise are absolutely incredible and with a points line of 11.5 we like him to hit the over here.

11:10pm New York Knicks @ Miami Heat

The Knicks needed to bounce back after getting beaten by the Celtics and Cavaliers last week and they did well to win against Philly and the Grizzlies. They’re still in with a shout of catching Boston but they need to find some consistency. Miami will be an interesting test coming into this one off wins against Atlanta and Indiana.

This is a tricky one to call but we really like both point guards to go over 20 in this one. Both Jalen Brunson and Tyler Herro have been playing excellently for their teams recently and both average well over 20 per game this season. We’re keeping it simple for this one, just sit back and enjoy two great guards going about their business.
