NBA Tips: James and Jokic feature in our 20/1 Bet Builder on Saturday night

Let's dive into Saturday night's hoops action in the US of A.

We’ve got another busy night of NBA action on Saturday with the Lakers and the Nuggets facing off as LeBron James and Luka Doncic battle with Nikola Jokic.

The 76ers and the Rockets also feature in the early hours of Sunday morning and our tipster James Walters has put together a tidy Multi-Match Bet Builder for you lucky lot.

Saturday night’s NBA betting tips:

Sunday 00:40: Brooklyn Nets @ Philadelphia 76ers
Brooklyn Nets +12.5 handicap

Sunday 01:40: Los Angeles Lakers @ Denver Nuggets
Denver Nuggets -4.5 handicap
Nikola Jokic to record 12+ rebounds
LeBron James over 40.5 pts, reb and ast

Sunday 02:40: Houston Rockets @ Utah Jazz
Houston Rockets to win
Jalen Green to score 20+ points

Sunday 00:40: Brooklyn Nets @ Philadelphia 76ers

Brooklyn Nets +12.5 handicap

The Brooklyn Nets travel to the underperforming Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night with both teams holding the exact same 20-35 record.

The Paul George trade hasn’t worked out for the 76ers, who are on a six-game losing streak and while Philadelphia are the heavy favourites to secure the win, we’re siding with Brooklyn on the handicap.

If Philadelphia win, we don’t see them dominating, so a +12.5 handicap in favour of the Nets is more than enough.

Add in the fact that Brooklyn are first overall when it comes to defensive rating over the last 10 games and it makes sense to side with the Nets.

Sunday 01:40: Los Angeles Lakers @ Denver Nuggets

Denver Nuggets -4.5 handicap

From Philadelphia to Denver now as the Nuggets host the Los Angeles Lakers in a potential Western Conference play-off match up later this year.

The Nuggets are on a tear at the moment and they’re looking for their tenth consecutive win.

Denver, who are 20-8 at home this season, are top three in points, rebounds and assists per game in the NBA and they should have too much for the Lakers.

The Lakers are 14-14 on the road this season so we’re siding with the Nuggets on a -4.5 handicap. Denver have won by five or more in their all of their last seven games.

Denver Nuggets -4.5 Alternate Handicaps

Nikola Jokic to record 12+ rebounds

The main reason why Denver are so good is because of Nikola Jokic.

The Serbian big man, who has been named the regular season MVP three times while also scooping the Finals MVP when the Nuggets won it all in 2023, is having another sensational season.

Jokic is averaging 29.7 points, 12.7 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game while shooting 57.6 per cent from the field.

All of those numbers are ridiculous but we’re focusing on the rebounds. The Lakers are short when it comes to bigs and Jokic will have far too much power and quality for Jaxson Hayes and new LA big Alex Len.

Jokic has grabbed 32 rebounds in his last two Denver games and we’re confident he’ll end up with 12+ boards on Saturday night.

LeBron James over 40.5 pts, reb and ast

Despite being 40 years old, LeBron James is still doing it all.

He comes into Saturday’s game on the back of his 40 point, eight rebound and four assist outing against the Portland Trail Blazers and while the Nuggets offer a much stiffer test, it’s impossible to go against one of the best to ever do it.

James is averaging 24.7 points, 8.9 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game so if he’s anything around his averages, he’ll hit the overs.

He’s hit the 40.5 tally for points, rebounds and assists in five of his last seven games. Let’s hope he can pull it off again!

Sunday 02:40: Houston Rockets @ Utah Jazz

Houston Rockets to win

Finally, we’re focusing on the Houston Rockets’ trip to Utah to face the Jazz.

The Rockets are fourth in the west and just two games behind the Memphis Grizzlies in second. While they’re suffering from a slight dip in form, they pulled off an impressive win against the Minnesota Timberwolves last time out and they’ll be hoping that kickstarts a winning run.

Utah are second bottom in the Western Conference with nothing to play for. They’ve lost 42 of their 55 games this season so we’re siding with a Rockets win.

Jalen Green to score 20+ points

Jalen Green has been the main man for the Rockets this season and the guard is averaging 21.5 points.

He put up 35 points against the Timberwolves last time out and he’s finished with 20+ points in seven of his last 10 games.

With the Jazz having the worst defensive rating in the NBA this season, expect Green to shine.
