The Los Angeles Lakers travel to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the early hours of Wednesday morning, with LeBron James and Co. riding a three-game win streak. They’ve racked up impressive wins against Portland Trail Blazers, Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Wizards in the last week, with Anthony Davis spearheading the Lakers’ charge.
They’re 13th in the Western Conference and people were writing off their playoff hopes before this win streak, however, they’re now just two games behind Portland in seventh.
Cleveland, meanwhile, are third in the Eastern Conference but they’ve lost three of their last six games, including their defeat against the New York Knicks on Sunday, which saw them drop just 81 points.
The Cavaliers’ home record is superb (10-1) but the Lakers are rolling at the moment. If you’re confident, back the Lakers on the money line, however, we’re going for Lakers +4 on the Handicap. It gives us a little more wriggle room if Cleveland win late on by a few points.
Anthony Davis Over 28.5 Points
We mentioned that Davis is the man for the Lakers at the moment and the 29-year-old has been sensational over the last few weeks.
Davis is coming into the Cleveland game on the back of his 55-point outing in Washington and he also dropped 44 in Milwaukee before that.
He’s averaging 35 points per game over his last ten outings, while shooting 65 per cent from the field. It’s also worth noting that the Cavaliers will likely be without centre Jarrett Allen, meaning Davis could tear up.
We won’t overcomplicate this one and we’re sticking with the hot hand. Davis to Score Over 28.5 Points makes sense.
LeBron James Over 5.5 Assists
James returns to his hometown where he won a title in 2016 and the 37-year-old always likes to give his old teams a little extra when he visits.
He’s been brilliant in the Lakers’ recent run, with James scoring 39, 21, 31, 28 and 29 over his last five games.
James’ points line of Over 26.5 could easily land but we’re backing him to dish the ball in Cleveland. He’s finished with eight, 11 and six assists in his last three games and he can keep that run going on his old stomping ground. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see James end up with a triple double if you’re looking for a side bet.

Next up is the Denver Nuggets v the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs come into this on the back of their 130-111 win against the Phoenix Suns, with Luka Doncic’s 33 points, eight assists and six rebounds guiding them to the victory on Monday night.
Dallas have won their last two but they face a Denver side who are brilliant at home in the altitude. The Nuggets are 6-2 at home and they haven’t played since Sunday.
The Mavs’ record on the road is poor, with Doncic and Co. winning two and losing eight of their ten games.
Doncic will be hard to stop but the Nuggets should be well rested and ready to bounce back from their defeat against the New Orleans Pelicans. We’re taking Denver on the -4.5 Handicap.
Luka Doncic Over 32.5 Points
Doncic dominated in Phoenix on Monday night but that’s been the story of his season.
The 23-year-old leads the NBA in scoring, with Doncic averaging 33.4 points per game. He’s also chipping in with an average of 8.5 assists and 8.5 rebounds per outing.
Doncic has dropped 41, 35, 30 and 33 in his last four games and the Slovenian will know it’ll take a huge outing from him if the Mavs are to win in Denver.
We’re backing Doncic to hit his season average and Score Over 32.5 Points.
