Wednesday 00:30: Brooklyn Nets @ Philadelphia 76ers

Brooklyn Nets to Win

The Brooklyn Nets travel to the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night, with Kevin Durant and Co. the favourites to secure their ninth win of the season.

Brooklyn come into this one on the back of their impressive 127-115 win against the Memphis Grizzlies, with the Nets winning four of their last six games.

Jacque Vaughn has made an immediate impact since replacing Steve Nash in Brooklyn, with the Nets much stronger defensively.

Philadelphia, meanwhile, lost against the Minnesota Timberwolves last time out. They’re having a hit and miss season, with the 76ers winning eight and losing eight.

The 76ers will be without their three best players in Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey, who combine for an average total of 77 points per game.

Without their main threats Philadelphia could really struggle on Tuesday night. We’re backing Brooklyn Nets to Win on the Moneyline, however, it could be worth getting behind them on the -7.5 Handicap if you’re feeling really confident.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

Ben Simmons Over 10.5 Points

Ben Simmons makes his first return to Philadelphia since being traded to the Nets earlier this year and he’s found form at the right time.

He’s averaging 16 points, 9 rebounds and five assists over his last three games. His scoring has increased in those three outings too (11, 15, 22).

Simmons to Score Over 10.5 Points makes plenty of sense. As long as the 26-year-old can get over the boos and jeers of the crowd, it looks likely to land.

Ben Simmons Over 4.5 Assists

Sticking with the theme of Simmons shining on his return to the Wells Fargo Centre, we’re also expecting him to rack up a few assists.

The point guard will be up against De’Anthony Melton and Shake Milton, who will likely struggle to contain Simmons.

Simmons has struggled with injuries over the last 12 months but he’s still managed to average 5.7 assists per game this season. Simmons to Have Over 4.5 Assists seems a shrewd selection.

Kevin Durant To Score 25+ Points

We’re expecting Simmons to impress on his return to Philadelphia but Kevin Durant is the Nets’ main man.

He’s averaging 30.4 points per game for Brooklyn, while shooting 53 per cent from the field. He’s also chipping in with an average of 6.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists per outing.

Durant hasn’t finished with less than 26 points in a game so far this season so backing him to Score 25+ Points is a no-brainer.

Wednesday 3:00: Los Angeles Lakers @ Phoenix Suns

Phoenix Suns to Win

We’ve also got the Phoenix Suns hosting the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.

The Suns are second in the Western Conference, just half a game behind the Utah Jazz, who have been the surprise package of the season.

Phoenix have won eight of their nine home games this campaign, with five of their six defeats coming on the road.

The Lakers look destined to miss out on the playoffs this season, with LeBron James and Co. winning just five of their 15 games.

They’ve impressed in the last 10 days beating the Sacramento Kings, the Nets and the Detroit Pistons to land a three-game win streak. The Lakers are relying on Anthony Davis with James currently out injured but the big man can only do so much.

Phoenix should have more than enough to beat the Lakers, who are yet to win on the road this season. Phoenix Suns to Win makes sense.

Cameron Payne Over 17.5 Points

Cameron Payne has stepped up in the absence of the injured Chris Paul, with the 28-year-old impressing in the starting line up.

Payne is now clocking around 33 minutes per game compared to his 17 before Paul’s injury and his productivity has stepped up too.

The point guard has averaged 20 points per game over his last six, including a 29 point outing last week. He’s also shooting 50 per cent from the field in his last three.

Payne to Score Over 17.5 Points is our final selection for Tuesday’s NBA action.
