Niall O’Brien is a former Irish international cricketer who played over 100 ODIs for his country, whom he also represented in their inaugural Test match against Pakistan in 2018. Over the course of a distinguished domestic first-class career, he featured prominently for Kent, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.
Averaging 28.05 with the bat across a 13-year career with Ireland, he played a part in most of the national side’s biggest triumphs during this period, including the victories over Pakistan in 2007 and England in 2011.
A keeper-batsmen, he was noted for his sharp glove-work and aggressive batting style and will go down as one of Ireland’s most talented ever cricketers.
In 2019, he became a cricket ambassador for Paddy Power.
