Celebrity Big Brother: ‘Barry’ on top to win… And he might not be the only one

Our traders think the CBB producers are out to make it as racy as Love Island...

Celebrity Big Brother kicks off tomorrow night with a list of contestants even more unrecognisable than ever before – certainly, it’s the first time Shaun Williamson has had top billing in his career.

And the actor, revered for playing Barry Evans in Eastenders for a decade, tops our betting at 9/2 as the best-known star on the show. Yep, you read that correctly.

Paul Danan, who is even more of a retro soap star than Williamson, and reality personality Jemma Lucy are just behind (both 13/2) – while Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding is 7/1 to win the show.

At the bottom of the betting is purported psychic Derek Acorah (33/1), whose controversial practices will almost certainly be drawn upon on the show, if producers know what’s good for them.

Our raunchy traders are also predicting a sex-fest of a show – inspired by the success of Love Island, telly bosses are bound to encourage saucy antics, and we make it 25/1 that two contestants bonk on the first night.

A romp in the opening week is rated at 7/1, while we also make the chance of a fight happening on the first show 10/1 and in the first week 5/1.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Celebrity Big Brother is back, and Barry from the Eastenders is the biggest name – it’s certainly the first time Shaun Williamson has been given top billing in his career.

“And he’s our favourite to win, with Derek Acorah at the other end of the scale – then again, I’m sure he saw that coming.

“Acorah claims to be a medium, but I reckon he’ll be outed as an XL rotter.”
