Love Island 2017: Olivia and Sam early favourites to win the dough

Our guilty pleasure is back, and we've priced up Olivia and Sam as the early favourites to win the series

There are a few indications that summer has arrived. I’ve bought a new pair of sunglasses, there’s been at least two barbecues since May and I no longer have to carry my ‘big coat’ everywhere I go. Add those to the fact that Love Island is back on our screens, and you’re good to go.

The ITV2 show smashed ratings last year, thanks to copious amounts of, well, smashing. Combine the banging with a big cash prize pot, and you’re onto a winner. We all pretended we weren’t watching it, but secretly we were…

This year, Paddy is getting on the wave nice and early, and our traders have already picked their early favourites.

So after a week in the house, Olivia and Sam are leading the pack, they’re favourites to win this series – with or without each other. That’s because this year, we’re offering separate odds for male and female winner, given the tendency for bed hopping and couple swapping.

At the minute, Sam is the 9/4 favourite to do the business for the boys. Dom (5/2) and Kem (4/1) follow him. Marcel, who might have mentioned he was in Blazin’ Squad, follows them at 5/1. We think he might Flip Reverse it.

The Middlesbrough lad may have only coupled up with Olivia a few days ago, but she also heads the female betting at 15/8. Her nearest rival is Jessica at 5/2. Montana follows those two at 4/1. The new girls, Gabrielle and Tyne-Lexy are 10/1 outsiders since they have not yet got their teeth stuck into anyone or coupled up.
