Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what an NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
12:45 Wincanton – Hobbs Delight (Daily Mail)
An open race to start with. HOBB’S DELIGHT perhaps found the ground too soft on his final start after going close the time before. West Orchard might be high in the weights but should run well, while Celtic Fortune can have a say and there could be a bigger effort in Supreme Commander.
15:00 Catterick – Langton Wold (The Sun)
Sean Bowen is a good booking for Flamelco, who tended to jump left when second at Hereford last month and might be seen to better effect on this anti-clockwise track. However, the vote goes to LANGTON WOLD, who was placed in fairly competitive hurdle races at Sedgefield on his last two appearances and remains on a good mark for this return to fences. If the ground is somewhere close to good, Getaway Jewel can also feature.
15:45 Wincanton – Imperial Jade (The Guardian)
Jaminska is temptingly handicapped and it was pure bad luck at Exeter 11 days ago when the saddle slipped. However, IMPERIAL JADE was also out of luck when suffering interference before rallying into third here last month and she’s improving. There are others with chances, with Time In The Sun worth a second look at greater odds.
16:30 Newcastle – Commander Crouch (Racing Post)
Volenti has found his niche since joining Ben Haslam and he is greatly respected as he bids for a third C&D win in his last four starts. There are some lurkers in opposition though with Martin’s Brig, Odd Socks Havana, Leap Year Lad (second choice) and COMMANDER CROUCH all having something to recommend them. The selection has a modest strike-rate but he wasn’t suited by a steadily run 7f race on his stable debut and today’s test should be more to his liking.
